When I first saw my reference photo for the cheetah, I envisioned a mother cheetah looking out for her cubs safety. She stands tall and stares at the horizon to make sure that no one can threaten her family. When she needs some food for her family, she will stalk some pray, quietly position herself behind it, and pounces with amazing speed. To me, the cheetah is one of the most beautiful and exotic of all felines because of its elegant look and speed.
I spent many hours in the creation of this portrait in order to portray how I envisioned her. This is my favorite rendition that I have painted thus far.
